Homeschooling is a wonderful adventure with so many ups and downs, twist and turns.  Washington State Latter-day Saints Family Educators (WALDSFE) is here to help you through those ups and down, twist and turns and make this adventure one you wish to continue and help others along the way.

What can WALSDFE do for you?

In 2001, when Washington State Latter-day Saint Family Educators was born the main function was to support LDS homeschooling families in the State of Washington through a free email support group.  Today this continues to still be the main function of WALDSFE.  Everyone who joins us online is considered a "member" of WALDSFE and we invite all to join us. 

It doesn't matter your religion, homeschool style or even where you live, we welcome all.  Please sign up with Yahoo! and join us online.  You will find that you are not alone. 

The second function WALDSFE holds is its annual LDS homeschooling conference.  Each spring, the LDS homeschooling parents (and teens) gather together in a large conference to hear from those who have gone before and to shop from select vendors. Non-profits are some of the first to feel the effects of a down economy, we have suspended our conferences for the time being (update: Feb 2009).

The easiest way to stay informed about the date and place is to join the email support group. 

The other functions are:

• Helping those who are new

• Listing Washington LDS support groups

• List of resources (especially testing)

• Answer questions (waldsfe@hotmail.com)

• List of field trips in Washington

WALDSFE is a proud supporter of the National LDS Homeschool Association.  Please take a moment to visit that site, sign up for the publications they offer and tour their site.  You will find many great and wonderful tips, answers and friends in their site.  The President of WALDSFE sits on the Board of Directors as well as write for their publications.
