Soccer full swing!

Not a day goes by that ZBEAST (our license plate) isn't seen in the Marymoor parking lot.  We have hit the soccer season full blast.

Kray is getting paid to blow the whistle.  He has found that girls (he refs mostly girls' games because he has too many brothers and that might pose a conflict of interest) are more gentile than boys out on the field.  They say, "Excuse me," and "I'm sorry," more than the boys.  He also has noticed that he doesn't run as much.  He likes that part because he plays just after he refs.

Kray and Jason share the goalie job on their soccer team.  They do a fantastic job! Mike plays forward on his soccer team (which isn't doing too well this spring).  Matt (I can only report what is told since I never see his games), is a dynamite player! Chris (coached by Kray) is constantly scoring and considers it a poor game when he doesn't score a hat trick. Jessie finally got in the rhythm and scored a few times on her soccer team.

editor's note: Mike doesn't have a picture of him playing because as a coach, I forget to pick up the camera and take a picture while he is playing.  The two kids who aren't playing at that time are over with Matt and Chris playing "parent." So you have Mike pondering a knot.

Flying High

Well, it is official! Kray passed the Eagle Board of Review and is now an Eagle Scout!

We are so proud of him.  Sometime during the summer we will have his court of honor!

"One down! Four to go!" is the chant from Doreen!

WALDSFE Homeschool Conference

Doreen put on her 8th Homeschool Conference amidst lots of ups and down.  This year she broke the bank (literally) and flew in the most fantastic speaker she could find: Lori Scovill. Lori hails from Texas and is a great motivational speaker.  She was the keynote and through her 45 minute address changed a lot of people perspective.  An added bonus was that Steve and Doreen got to take her out to dinner before she flew home.  She was truly a delight.

The mini classes were fantastic!  Not one complaint on the reviews except "not enough time." (That is nothing new.)  This year we did extended hands on classes that blew the socks off those attending.  We had another set of classes geared to the upper grades and of course the always popular newbie classes.

It was a success! YEAH WALDSFE!
