Soccer

Let's see, is there a day that Doreen and her brood aren't out kicking a ball around? OH, yes, Sunday!  Soccer is in full swing in little ol' Redmond and the Blanding family is a huge part of it.

Kray is a ref and is slotted to make over $700 for about 5 hours of work a week. He will be reffing about 5 games a week and come the end of the season will have made more money than is needful for a boy of 15.

Jason isn't old enough to be a paid ref, but he does strap on a whistle and ref's Jessie's game and sometimes Chris'.  He is a very confident ref and he too will be raking in the money once he turns 14 and can take the class.

Mike is once again on the Earthquake team (coached again my his mom).  With in the first two games Mike scored his first goal.  He has been moved into the striker position and is doing a great job of getting the ball up the side and into the corner for the cross.

Matt is on the Thunder again, but this year under a new coach.  He is having a great time on his team and is hoping for their first victory.

Chris is again on the Champions with all the same kids and they are scoring machines.  It is a rare Saturday that they start the second half with the rule "everyone touches it before you can shoot."  He comes home scoring hat tricks all the time.

Jessie is on the Sunshine again and LOVES soccer.  Of course it helps that her mother is the coach.  They have a great time and the team is maturing.  As they line up on Saturday to play soccer it seems as if the soccer association took out a measuring tape and anyone smaller than Jessie was put on her team.  The other teams are consistently taller and bigger than her team, but they hold there own and are hoping for a win--but whose keeping track anyway.

Doreen is coaching two teams again this year, Mike and Jessie and it keeps her very busy and nervous on Saturday.

Steve is the official driver and cheerleader for this brood and gets an A plus for not missing a pick up or drop off yet.  On Saturday he walks out the front door with a flow chart on where to go and when and follows it! What a dad!

and now they know why.)

Kitchen

WE ARE DONE! It is well laid out, has the state of the art appliances and it actually works! Water no longer takes 10 minutes to boil. My ovens are large enough to hold all my pans and there are two of them.  I've even roasted my first chicken! Can't wait to start baking once soccer is over!

Take a look at some of the pictures.

Above the stove top we have added a little personal touch.
For those who know don't know Portuguese it reads
"Health" "Strength"

I tried hard to get a non silly picture of the six of them, but I couldn't so I just gave up.

Chris, Jessie, Matt
