The Blanding Bugle

Volume 18 Issue 8

August 2009

SCOUTS!

This year Kray, Jason, Mike and Matt all went off to scout camp! Having four boys out of the house at once was heaven, sort of.  It was great that the boys all went together (too bad Chris was too young) so they could all experience it together, but I did miss them.  I did get one or two kids' bedrooms clean up though.  How is it that so much junk can be found in a room so small?  I found lots of over due library books, too small clothes, dishes, pay checks (you're welcome Kray), and lots of other stuff! It was great, but our garbage cans were full!

While the bigger boys were away, Chris, Jessie and I took a quick trip to Ridgefield to visit Steve's parents.  It was very enjoyable.  We had a great time.

The next week, Chris and I went to our last week of cub camp.  Oh, how I will miss going every year.  Chris got a bull's eye in archery and got the badge in BB shooting with a 39! (40 is the best you can do.)  I got a bull's eye too.  This was the first time I was able to shoot because my shoulder was fixed!  In the obstacle course he was the one who did the high hula hoop-over and over and got a special award for it. He also taught the camp director/MC a new song.  We had a blast!  Just look at Chris' face!  (And I had to only choose a few photos.)

Jason and Mike each took a day and came and helped out. Thanks boys! (Sorry no picture of Mike--he was too far away from me.)

Chris and his pop gun (so much fun).

The summer court of honor was held very late July and Matt was able to get is 2nd &1st Class rank advancements.  We are so proud of him!

WATER!

The boys seem to hit the water a lot this summer.  Thanks to wonderful friends Kray, Jason and Mike found themselves on the Lake being pulled around by a boat.  They had a blast!

As you look at these pictures (they are in order) look at Jason hold on!  WOW! I've never seen a kids do a complete 360! IMPRESSIVE JASON!

This is Jason doing a complete 360!
Look at him hanging on!
Mike started out in the tube, but went flying.

Eagle Project

Mike has been working hard for the past few months on his eagle project.  On the 18th he put the finishing touches on the benches in the Redmond Watershed. They turned out pretty good even with all the set backs he had.

And Just so Jessie doesn't feel left out, she too had fun in with water!

Seattle is so Beautiful

The perks of working in Seattle: Beauty! For a moral event at Real, Steve's team rented a boat and went on a "three hour tour". It was really only 2.5 hours in pretty calm Lake Washington. Of course spouses were invited and Doreen and Steve had a wonderful time.  Seattle is so beautiful! But since this edition is already full of photos, I'll just show you two--proof we were there.
