Parades-Festivals-Fairs and Shows

My family loves these one day outings. They are good cultural experiences and there is always much to be learned at each.  I’ve tried to list these in calendar order.

Please call and check operating hours.  It would be advisable to call any place (even hiking) before you head out and find out operating hours, permit requirements, up-to-date admission prices, traffic, specials etc. Even worse than rainy, muddy kids are kids that were looking forward to something and having to disappoint them when that something doesn’t work out!

Please note that some web addresses are a link to the home page.  Because web designers are changing links, I've included the home address as well as the specific link just in case the specific link has moved.  If you find a broken link please email waldsfe@hotmail.com and report the broken link.

Please see the sources page for more information on these links and other links and/or books that might help you find the right place to go.

General lists:

  • For a great list of festivals in Seattle, year round.  Check it out many great cultural celebrations to be found here.

  • Westport has a cam and a list of wonderful year round events at this site.  Please visit them and be sure to visit the Westport Maritime Museum where they have a beautiful large light house lens on display, whale bones and much more.  One of the guides there (Jeannie Dilk) is an education coordinator and very willing to answer questions your child may email to her!

  • Northwest Charm's list of fairs and festivals.

  • To search all of Washington State for Festivals and Events try Washington State Dept. of Commerce site Experience Washington.
