Painting the Ceiling

In our study of the Renaissance (2002) we studied Michelangelo.  So the kids would have some idea of what it was like to paint the Sistine Chapel's Ceiling we decided to paint our ceiling.

This was a great lesson on patience, both mine and theirs.  Jason even had paint drop in his face.  He then stormed and wanted to quit.  All of their backs were a bit tired and sore after 2 hours of bending backwards painting the ceiling.  We did have fun doing this and I will do it again when the time comes again that we are studying Michelangelo.

First we sat down and planned out what we were going to paint.
Even though Matt and Chris are "planning" they did not paint the ceiling.

We then did a cartoon of our planned painting, just as Michelangelo (or any great Renaissance master) would have done.  This is Kray cartooning his masterpiece..
