Cooking, Health and Nutrition
We did this unit while working on the Cooking BSA Merit Badge. The BSA Merit Badge is very heavy in camp cooking, which didn't bother this camping family, but there was much more to learn about cooking then camp cooking. Kray earned his Cooking BSA Merit Badge the summer of 2004.
For the 2004-2005 school year we joined with a friend in taking a co-op home economics class. We based our classes on the set of "light units" entitled, Home Economics 1 . It is hard to categorize the books, but we did the cooking units, decorating units and sewing units.
For the 2007-2008 school year we learned even more since we just put in a brand new kitchen and I wanted to learn how to cook. We also used our high school cooking skills requirements to complete this unit.
