 | For the study of Egypt we used the books Tut, Tut by Jon Scieszka, and
The Golden Goblet by Eloise Jarvis McGraw. |
 | Tut, Tut was made into a play. The children are to pick a scene
(usually a chapter) and make it into a play. They were to practice and try
to perform the play for friends and family within a two week period.
This book lends itself very well to a play. |
 | For The Golden Goblet we used Literature Unit by Teacher Created
Materials--The Golden Goblet by Mari Lu Robbins for many of the
study questions, vocabulary words and "quizzes." Other writing assignments
were: |
 | "What if I were a Boy in Egypt" (full page, double spaced, rough and final
drafts--two weeks). "I am a Pharaoh" (full page, double spaced, rough and final drafts--two weeks). Theme paper--answer these questions and remember to add two quotes from the
book. "What decision did Ranofer make that were positive? What
decision did Ranofer make that was negative." |
