Thar She BlowsWe have been very privileged to live in the Pacific Northwest and able to walk on, visit, touch and see volcanoes up close. I was a young girl when Mt. St. Helens in southwest Washington blew in 1980 and I have been able to share my story with my children. On October 1, 2004 Mt. St. Helens "burped" and we were able to spend a few days thinking and studying about what we witnessed via television. We haven't done a flow blown unit, but these are the recourses we have used over the years as we have studied volcanoes. Please see the related unit Geology
and Washington State.
