Biographical Information

Erin Guinup was introduced to homeschooling in college while pursuing her education and vocal performance degrees.   She met a remarkable homeschooler who inspired her with her work ethic and hunger for knowledge.  She and her husband decided to homeschool but her husband developed a life-threatening illness that put their plans on hold for a number of years.  They finally began their homeschooling journey together two years ago with their two children.

Erin has worked professionally on opera and musical theatre stages and teaches private voice lessons from her home.  Among her favorite stage experiences are portraying Mary in "Savior of the World."  Needless to say, she keeps her children active in music as part of their homeschooling experience.

Keeping the Faith: A Musical Tale of How I Survive Homeschooling

We all know homeschooling is replete with challenges.  Pressing forward requires an immense amount of faith; faith in ourselves, our children and in God to sustain us.  This class will incorporate inspirational music and dialogue in sharing things that have helped one person to survive the doubts and fears.
