Biographical InformationMy name is Kim Proctor I live in Shoreline Washington. I am a therapeutic foster parent, current homeschool "teacher", and mother of 5 children ages 2 - 14 years. I love to learn something new and I know how much I have yet to learn. I am so blessed to have the opportunity to homeschool, where I can spend my days learning right beside my sweet children! In addition to studying about anything and everything, I loves to read, learn more about learning styles and how to help my unique children get the most out of their education, I love to help out at DI, and I am supporting my husband while he finishes school. I loves to cook, and learn how to feed my family on a very restricted diet. The Lord was very patient with me, he wanted me to homeschool from the beginning but I would not listen. I pulled my children out after I found out that they all were not learning in school. I have been blessed with 3 children with varying abilities and I have had many opportunities to learn how to help them learn. I feel so blessed to have been directed to learn along with my family. Adding spiceHave you ever made mashed potatoes and sat down to eat them and realized that you had forgotten an ingredient? I have, I still could eat them and they were filling but I wasn't really satisfied. Well come and learn how to add just a little something to put the spice or the fun back into your day as a homeschooling mom. The Square PegJust imagine how frustrated you would be if you were given a peg board with round holes and the pegs you were given were square. You would try and try to make them fit using what you were given but somehow you always failed. We all have children that don't fit the norm in all things. I will give you some ideas and strategies to help you think outside the box and help your child fit into whatever shape of peg he is. Using the CommunityWe invite you to step outside your front door and experience school in your community. With so many great resources at our finger tips there is no reason we should stay at home to homeschool. Come join us as we explore new ways and places to educate our children.
