This is a list of books that is required reading over the four years of high school at Helaman's Academy.

This list is specific for our children.  There are many great books left off because either they have already read them, we read them as a family or we didn't feel that our children could handle them.  You will also note that we require a certain number of books read each year, some are required and the rest the children can choose from this list, OR they can suggest another book.  Of course, this is the beauty of homeschooling.

Major caution about the links suggested, many, if not all of these sites have heavy advertising on their sites.  Because of the target audience (college and high schoolers), they are flashy and at some times be a bit not in accordance to the family values I hold dear.  Please be careful and use judgment when clicking on sites.  Also, some of these site charge for their study guides, so not all were listed.

Note: Biblomania is a website with frames so there is no direct link to the books study guide. Please type in author or title of book.

Helaman's Academy High School What a Blessing! Speaking on Teens

A credit at Helaman's Academy is either a content based credit or a time based credit.  A "content" based credit is mastering certain skills or completing a text book (like a math book). A "time" based credit is spending time at that skill like practicing a musical instrument or playing on a sports team for a certain amount of time; roughly about 120 hours.
