Understanding & Likening the Scriptures
We have enjoyed studying the scriptures as a family, but sometimes we are
totally confused. To help us we have a collection of books and web
pages that can can use. I will not list the standard works as that seems
to obvious; but note that we will use the LDS King James Version of The Bible,
The Book of Mormon, The Doctrine and Covenants and The Pearl of Great Price since we
are member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. If you want
to know more about our church please see
www.lds.org or www.mormon.org or
www.providentliving.org BUT you
don't have to be a member of our church to glean information from this page
since many of the things listed here are NOT published by the LDS church.
The material here is listed to help our family better understand the stories,
geography, and history taught in the scriptures not necessarily the principles
taught. I know it is so hard to separate the two, but I hope I have.
If you want information on how to be a better person, please see our unit on
values called "Way to Be!"
